Amelia Island Fishing Spots

Nassauville Boat Ramp

This is a small boat ramp located in Nassauville on Holly Point Drive, up Christopher Creek from the river.

Usually a pretty quiet spot to fish, with the exception of weekends when you'll find a lot of boat traffic in and out of the ramp.

To find this spot, drive west off the island on A1A over the bridge heading towards Yulee. Turn left on Nassauville Road (107) at the traffic light. Follow Nassauville Road until it ends in a tee at Holly Point Drive. Turn left on Holly Point Drive and go about a block to the boat ramp parking lot at the end of the road.

We've caught trout, reds, whiting, and jacks here, primarily trout during the winter months. Also at times it's a great place to catch blue crabs and mud minnows in a trap. Lots of junk in the water around the ramp and the floating dock, so be careful with your cast net. Don't forget your bug spray; if the wind stops blowing, the mosquitos here are just about unbearable.

A bad day of fishing is much better than a good day of cutting the grass.
